SeaFaries
The ‘smorgasbord’ of tours! A unique experience combining years of sea knowledge and research about some of Guernsey’s most wonderful bays. During these tours we’ll cover…..
The history of the Bay, the Occupation and its impact, tidal movement, knots, reefs, wrecks, environmental clues to weather, how the sea plays a part in our day-to-day language, identifying the different types of common seaweed and historic uses, what we might find in the water and fascinating facts, identifying bird life, and for the walks we might even dig up some of our local shellfish.
If SUP is not your thing, then no problems. Kayakers are more than welcome and mixed groups are easily accommodated. If you have your own SUP then bring that along (BYO) and we’d love to see you. For both kayakers and SUP’ers then experience on the water is needed as this is not a lesson, and you must be comfortable on your watercraft of choice. We will however, pass on some SUP/water guidance as we go. The distance we will travel, on the water, is about 3km.
Should being on the water not ‘float your SUP / Kayak’ or the weather conditions not be favourable, then we offer walking beach tours, which covers all of the above and more.
We'd love to take out private group's and/or offices for the walking Tours and we can even end up at a couple of restaurants for some well earned food.
Each SeaFarie takes about 2 hours, and it will be interactive and dynamic due to the constantly changing biodiversity of Guernsey.
The costs are:
SUP - Full Hire and the Tour - £45
SUP - BYO and the Tour - £30
Kayak - BYO and the Tour - £30 (please contact us if you want to hire a kayak)
Walking Beach Tour - £20 per person (Early Bird price)
Please contact us with any questions, to book a place or to enquire about a private Group.
